Rubber Flooring

There's no single right thickness, so compare the options. The Johnsonite Raised Round rubber tile is 3.175 mm, the GatorPRO glue-down roll is 6 mm, and the GenieMat Fit08 puzzle tile is 8 mm, with GenieMat FIT also made in 6 mm and 10 mm nominal thicknesses. Both work, depending on your space. The GenieMat Fit08 puzzle tile is 23" x 23" (4 sq ft), and tiles are easier to replace in sections. The GenieMat Fit08 roll is 4' x 25' (100 sq ft) and weighs 172 lb, and rolls cover larger areas with fewer seams.

It depends on the product. Most of the rubber flooring listed is glue-down, such as the Johnsonite Raised Round rubber tile and the GatorPRO roll, which installs with TRUGlu01, TRUGlu04 or GTape82. If you'd rather not glue, the VersaRUBBER sheet is loose lay. Follow the installation instructions for the product you choose.

Slip resistance varies by product, so check each one's specs. The product specs list an SCOF of at least 0.5 (ASTM D2047) for the Johnsonite Raised Round rubber tile, a COF greater than 0.8 for the GatorPRO roll, and a COF greater than 0.8 wet and greater than 0.64 dry for the VersaRUBBER sheet.

Pliteq says GenieMat Fit08 is used in entryways, corridors, group fitness areas, locker rooms and spinning studios. The Johnsonite Raised Round rubber tile is ASTM E 648 Class 1, rated 250 psi (ASTM F970), FloorScore certified and backed by a 5-year commercial warranty.

It can help. Pliteq says the GenieMat Fit10 puzzle tile is engineered to reduce structure-borne sound and vibration transmission in concrete, wood frame and metal deck construction. To compare products, look at the IIC rating, which measures impact noise: the higher the number, the better. For example, the Johnsonite Triumph rubber tile lists 59 IIC. No floor can promise that neighbours won't hear anything.
