This sharpening stone is made from Crystolon silicon carbide. The grit is coarse on one side, fine on the other. It works well for sharpening resharpenable curved carpet and vinyl knives. Grit specification is 280 grit. The size of the stone only is 1 1/4" wide by 10" long x 3/4" thick. The 1 1/8" diameter red handle adds an additional 4 3/4" to the length.
