Add underpad, tack strip, adhesives and tools, with delivery across Canada.
Width, unit sold, fibre, pile, use and warranty vary by product. Check whether underpad is attached: on Romantic Getaway, for example, it is not. Many product pages also offer a Technical Data Sheet and installation instructions to download.
Complete a wall-to-wall install with carpet underlayment and padding for comfort, sound control and durability, plus carpet tack strip, carpet adhesives and carpet tools. Always follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Frequently asked questions
See all FAQsHow do I choose between wall-to-wall carpet and carpet tiles?
Wall-to-wall broadloom comes off wide rolls: for example, Beaulieu Romantic Getaway is 12 ft wide and sold by the square yard. Carpet tiles are modular, commonly in sizes like 24 x 24 inches, and some come in other sizes, such as the 20 x 20 Victory Color 748. Compare the format, fibre, use and installation method in each product's specifications, then see carpet tiles for modular options.
How is broadloom carpet sold, and how do I work out how much I need?
Broadloom is usually listed by the square yard, and the roll width is in the specifications. For example, Romantic Getaway is 12 ft wide, one square yard equals 9 sq ft, and a complete roll is 98.4 ft (30 m) long, or 131.2 sq yd. Measure your room, convert the area to square yards, and plan seams and cuts around the roll width.
Do I need an underpad under wall-to-wall carpet?
Check the Underpad Attached line in the specifications: Romantic Getaway, for example, has no attached underpad. Beaulieu's general installation instructions say cushion choice is very important for a stretch-in install, since a cushion that is too soft or too thick can cause open seams and re-stretching problems. For residential use, Beaulieu calls for a cushion of at least 6 lb/cu ft density and no more than 3/8 in. thick. Shop carpet underlayment and padding.
What supplies do I need to install wall-to-wall carpet?
For a stretch-in install, Beaulieu's instructions call for tackless strip, a suitable cushion and a power stretcher, with seams sealed using seam adhesive. A direct glue install uses carpet adhesive instead. FloorBox carries carpet tack strip, carpet adhesives, underpad and carpet tools. Always follow the installation instructions on the product page.
